Jim Davis, the creator of the Garfield comics decided to try a "social experiment". He actually taking Garfield out of the comic strips. What was left was a lonely, depressed, middle-aged Jon who was often more interesting and at times even funnier!
His website for this project adds a new comic every day, and a collection book is now out.
Jon becomes a great deal more depressive now that he’s alone…
