As this picture (from the CDC website) shows, the organism is more precisely an amoeboflagellate - note the "tail", but the article refers to it only as an amoeba.

Etsy, the online equivalent to a (massive) craft show, has added an app to help you decide what to get your friends for Christmas by looking at their FaceBook profiles!
For some friends, the list of suggestions can seem a little eerie, though if the person in question hasn’t LIKEd anything on FaceBook, it only provides generic selections.
Even if you’re not into handmade stuff, it could help get ideas for your Christmas gift list!
