Computer Intelligence via Brain Simulation
IBM and a Swiss research group have successfully built a computer simulation of a significant part of a living brain.
Their tests show that the model reacts like a live brain, and based on their current success, they expect to be able to complete an entire mammalian brain within three years, and a complete human one within ten years.
I don’t know how comfortable I am with bringing a fully functioning human brain online inside a computer, but progress must march on, eh?

The current model requires a separate cpu to handle each neuron in the model brain!
